Solar panels just broke another record in the U.S. by Katie Fehrenbacher | Fortune.com

“…the amount of U.S. residential solar panels has been growing more rapidly, and has been expanding across more states than ever before. The amount of home solar roofs grew 70% year-over-year for the most recent quarter, and went from four states with vibrant residential solar markets in 2013, to ten states today.”

Let’s be clear, the theory is that every home can, and should be powered by Solar Power.

The Study
This exclusive study will bring together a consortium of utilities, project developers, software and hardware providers, and other key microgrid and nanogrid stakeholders, to:
Discuss best practices and forward-looking business models
Explore regulatory frameworks that can facilitate market growth
Collaborate with industry peers and develop lasting relationships with key partners across the small grid industry in a close, collegial and low risk environment.
Providing access to a high-level team of Navigant small grid subject-matter experts in a casual, in-person group setting, the study will provide answers to the following questions:
What are the most promising economic models for financially sustainable microgrids and nanogrids?
What are the key technologies (and key vendors) playing or emerging in the small-grid sector?
What are the critical deployment issues and opportunities particular to small-scale grids?
What are the primary microgrid/nanogrid growth drivers, markets, and segments?

Another Fire?

Can system monitoring alert an owner or a Solar Power Maintenance Contractor to a rooftop fire? It may not be an option that an owner willing to pay for but it should be the installers obligation to have one installed to protect themselves and the property. In the event that a system malfunctioned, for whatever reason, or became an obstruction to fighting a fire,  the installer could provide personnel to assist local fire officials in their attempts to navigating the array while putting out the fire.
