Solar Power’s Dark Side – NYTimes.com & My Two Cents.

Solar Power’s Dark Side – NYTimes.com.

Yes, you’re right to make the distinction between Solar Panels and drywall, it only natural. Especially when you consider that China has always filled the void when demand is high. The same thing happened with steel. Not only have they undercut the American Solar panel manufacturer on price, and given them a negative image, they then turn around and slowly feed substandard products into the market. Thus defeating us on two fronts, manufacturing and financing. I’ve started to look down the road, at the end of the current group of 25 year PPAs, I never expected the currently installed panels to last more than 15 years; power producers would be smart to start swapping out at that time to continue to maximize production through the agreement, but what should we expect now?
